AN ORDINANCE TO ANNEX TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
SAVANNAH PROPERTY LYING CONTIGUOUS TO THE EXISTING CORPORATE
LIMITS AND BEING THE TERRITORY DESCRIBED AS: (PARCEL 1) ALL THAT
CERTAIN TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND LABELED AS BLITCH TRACT NO. 1 IN
THE SURVEY ENTITLED "PLAT OF 556.11 ACRES PORTION OF THE MRS. J.D.
BLITCH TRACT SURVEYED FOR THE MORGAN FAMILY" PREPARED BY
MICHAEL E. STONE DATED JANUARY 16, 2007, AND (PARCEL 2) ALL THAT
CERTAIN TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND CONTAINING 105.2 ACRES BEING
SHOWN IN THE SURVEY ENTITLED "PLAT OF A DEWBERRY, DURRENCE &
HILL TRACT CONTAINING 105.2 ACRES, LOCATED ON OLD RIVER ROAD, 81 H
G.M. DISTRICT, CHATHAM COUNTY, GEORGIA" PREPARED BY GARDNER,
WILLIAMS & ASSOC., INC. AND DATED FEBRUARY 27, 2003; TO REPEAL ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Morgan family and the Savannah Economic Development Authority
(SEDA) the owners of certain tracts of land contiguous to the corporate limits of the
City have submitted a petition requesting annexation to the City; and
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 36 of Title 36 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated (O.C.G.A. 36-36-20 et seq.) have been complied with;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Savannah, Georgia, in regular meeting of Council assembled and pursuant to lawful
authority thereof:
SECTION 1: The following tracts being contiguous to the City of Savannah and
described as:
Property Descriptions.
PARCEL 1: (PIN 11045 01002) -All that certain tract or parcel of land, lying, and
being in the 8th G.M.D., Chatham County, Georgia, being more particularly described
as follows:
Commencing at a point, said point being the centerline intersection of Patrick
Loop and Old River Road, thence along a survey Tie Line South 15°18'14"
East, a distance of 1899.45 feet to a Concrete Monument Found, being a point
on the Chatham County and Effingham County Line; thence leaving said Old
River Road (100' right-of-way) and running North 49°9'51" East, a distance of
1250.10 feet to a Concrete Monument Found; leaving said County Line and
running thence South 18°48'41" East, a distance of 278.21 feet to a Concrete
Monument Found; running thence North 48°33'05" East, a distance of 801.68
feet to a Concrete Monument Found and also being the POINT OF
BEGINNING: running thence South 40°02'35" East, a distance of 2898.82 feet
to a point; running thence North 74°44'02" East, a distance of 2080.34 feet to a

Right-of-Way Concrete Monument Found; being the point of curvature of a tangent
curve, concave to the North, having a radius of 5,679.58 feet, and a chord length of
160.09 feet bearing North 23°50'53" West; thence proceed along the arc of said curve
160.10 feet to a Concrete Monument Found and also being the same POINT OF
BEGINNING; Said tract of land contains 105.2 Acres, more or less, is shown on a plat
of the Dewberry, Durrence & Hill Tract, 8th G.M. District, Chatham County, Georgia, a
Survey by Michael S. Williams, Georgia Registered Land Surveyor #2712, Gardner
Williams & Associates dated February 27, 2003 and recorded in Plat Book 24-P, Folio
63, Chatham County Records,
are hereby annexed into the City of Savannah and made a part of said City.
SECTION 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to file a report on
this annexation with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and with Chatham
County as provided by O.C.G.A. 36-36-3.

appealed.

shown as a 556.1 acre portion of the Mrs. J. D. Blitch Tract (Blitch Tract No. 1) on a
plat of survey dated January 16, 2007, prepared by Michael E. Stone, Georgia
Registered Land Surveyor No. 2747, and (Parcel 2) All that certain tract or parcel of
land containing 105.2 acres, more or less, and being shown on that certain plat of
Dewberry, Durrence & Hill Tract, 8th Georgia Militia District, Chatham County,
Georgia, prepared by Michael S. Williams, dated February 27, 2003, said plat being
recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Chatham County, Georgia,
in Plat Book 24-P, Page 63 and identified as parcel identification numbers 11045
01002 and 11046 01001, as adopted and approved by the Mayor and Alderman at
their meeting of August 29, 2019.
