A Resolution Approving Arena Exterior Architectural Design
WHEREAS, the City of Savannah is building a 215,000-square-foot, 9,500-seat arena located on
Stiles A venue north of Gwinnett Street; and
WHEREAS, City Council has worked with Arena architect Perkins and Will to develop an
architectural design that maximizes natural light through large glass facades, and includes towers
flanking the entrance topped by glass lanterns that illuminate at night; and
WHEREAS, the building fa;:ade is a combination of masonry, stone, metal panel and glass that
recalls Savannah's great architecture while creating a new civic landmark.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah
support this exterior architectural design as presented on September 26, 2019, and authorize the
City Manager to move forward to complete the design of the project through construction
documents.
