OSKALOOSA CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING
February 3, 2026
The Oskaloosa City Council met in special session on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at
5:00 p.m. with Mayor Krutzfeldt presiding and the following members answering roll call:
Almond, Caligiuri, Drost, Hermsen, Holmberg, Ibrahim and Sword. Absent: None.
It was moved by Almond, seconded by Ibrahim to approve the February 3, 2026
agenda. The roll was called and the vote was:
AYES: Almond, Caligiuri, Drost, Hermsen, Holmberg, Ibrahim and Sword.
NAYS: None
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion approved.
City Manager Shawn Metcalf gave a presentation on the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget
Amendment and Fiscal Year 2027 Proposed Budget.
It was moved by Hermsen seconded by Drost to contribute $90,000 to Forest Cemetery
for FY2027; $65,000 to the Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter for FY2027; $45,000 to the
Mahaska Chamber and Development Group plus an additional $1,000 for Painting with Lights
for FY2027; and not funding the request received from 10-15 Transit (Osky Rides) for FY2027.
The roll was called and the vote was:
AYES: Almond, Caligiuri, Drost, Hermsen, Holmberg, Ibrahim and Sword.
NAYS: None
Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion approved
City Council discussed the proposed amendment to FY2026 budget and the proposed
FY2027 budget and tax levy.
It was moved by Ibrahim, seconded by Hermsen that the meeting adjourn. Motion
carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 9:41 p.m.
