ITEM TITLE:
Consider a motion approving FY2027 funding for outside agencies.
STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT:

SUMMARY:
The city received funding requests for FY2027 from the following agencies:
Mahaska Chamber and Development Group: $45,000 plus $1,000 for Painting with Lights
Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter $80,000
Forest Cemetery $100,000
10-15 Transit Agency $10,000
Agencies presented information regarding funding requests at the January 5, 2026 Council
Study Session. Information for past contributions and current funding requests will be
presented during the budget discussion.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff requests council direction and approval on FY2027 funding requests.
BUDGET CONSIDERATIONS:
The following amounts were approved for FY2026: Mahaska Chamber, $45,000 plus $1,000;
Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter, $65,000; and Forest Cemetery, $90,000. The same
amounts are currently included in the FY2027 budget.
