ADJOURNED EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE COUNTY BOARD
June 25, 2024
The Board of Commissioners of Freeborn County met in the Freeborn County Boardroom at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday,
June 25, 2024. Members present: Commissioners Forman, Edwin, Kaasa, Shoff and Eckstrom.
Commissioner Shoff offered the following resolution;
RESOLUTION 24-181
Declaration of a local State of Emergency
WHEREAS, the County of Freeborn, Minnesota has been impacted by severe storms, heavy rains and
flooding from June 16th, 2024 to the present; and
WHEREAS, Freeborn County is a public entity within the State if Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the County, Townships, Cities, Public Utilities and other areas within Freeborn County have
experienced significant amount of public property and infrastructure damage;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Freeborn County Board of Commissioners hereby
declares that a state of emergency exists within Freeborn County for the conditions resulting from this severe storm
and flooding event, with all the powers and responsibilities attending thereto as provided by Chapter 12, Minnesota
Statues and Freeborn County.
Resolution seconded by Commissioner Kaasa.
After discussion a vote was taken and the Chair declared the resolution adopted.
Chair, Commissioner Edwin adjourned the meeting at 8:51 a.m.
