ITEM TITLE:
Consider a resolution amending Resolution No. 26-03-48 to revise the public hearing notice for
the proposed FY2027 budget.

SUMMARY:
This resolution amends Resolution No. 26-03-48 approved by council at the March 23, 2026
specialmeeting. TheamendedresolutionreflectsupdatestotheFY2027budgetasapprovedby
councilandlowersthepropertytaxlevy. ThepublichearingremainsscheduledforMonday,April
20, 2026.
The updated public hearing notice will be published in the Oskaloosa Herald on Saturday, April
4, 2026, and posted on the city’s website Friday, March 27, 2026.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the item.

RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 26-03-48 TO REVISE THE PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
FOR THE PROPOSED FY2027 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Oskaloosa, Iowa adopted Resolution No. 26-
03-48on March23,2026,adopting theproposed FY2027budget and settingadateforapublic
hearing thereon; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is required to hold a public hearing on the proposed FY2027
budget to comply with Iowa Code Sections 384.16 and 362.3; and
WHEREAS,theCityCouncilhasdeterminedthatitisnecessarytoamendResolutionNo.
26-03-48 to revise and clarify the public hearing notice for the FY2027 property tax levy and
related budgeted revenue and expenditures; and
WHEREAS,thepublichearingnoticewillcomplywithstatutorynoticerequirementsand
provide clear opportunity for public input on the proposed FY2027 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Oskaloosa, Iowa,
ResolutionNo.26-03-48isamendedtorevisethepublichearingnoticefortheproposedFY2027
budget.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing on the proposed budget shall be
conducted on April 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at which time persons may appear and speak for or
against the proposed budget.
